My story begins before the internet was an integral part of human existence. We would pass time by exploring the outdoors, ringing doorbells to see if friends were home, and leaving voicemails on landlines. The television was our babysitter and window to the rest of the world. One day a disc arrived in our mailbox, allowing us to try something called the internet… AOL. The versions of this service went from 1.0 to 4.0 in a couple of blinks. Now here we are! Any information we need is conveniently located on the phones in our pockets.

Creating entertaining videos started with the clunky half-ton VHS camcorder. My friends and I would storyboard skits, film and edit them, then share them with family and friends… in person. Music videos, stunt videos, and short skits were the most shared videos we would create. This love for film carried on through middle school, high school, and then college. I had an active role in the video services program for our high school, including making PSAs about not skipping class. After graduating from Northern Michigan University in Marquette Michigan with a Digital Cinema degree, I started creating commercials for local businesses and have enjoyed the entire video creation process ever since. Over the last two decades, projects have included Commercials and Advertisements, Social Media Videos, Documentaries, Workplace Safety and Training Videos, Music Videos, Event and Conference Coverage, Short Films, Marketing Campaigns, and more.

I have always had a passion for connecting people together within our community. Growing up in a small town in upstate New York taught me the value of working together towards a common goal. Using social media, we can all work together to help businesses succeed. After studying the proper application for every platform, I am confident we can guide you in the appropriate direction to gain attention from the desired audience. Every platform has its unique quirks that can take a while to perfect, including when to post and what to post. Social media is an amazing tool for small businesses to connect to their customers and grow organically.

I have always had a passion for storytelling through video. Most of my video projects growing up were music videos for myself and my friends. This passion has only grown since then and has spilled over to other video formats. Something magical happens when you can envision a final product in your head and then bring it to life. Making that happen brings me extreme joy. After graduating from Columbia University, I moved back to my hometown in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. When I am not producing videos I am playing music with friends at local events or enjoying the outdoors.

I remember the exact moment where I knew I wanted to be a writer. I was 10 years old and my mom took me to see Harriet the Spy. I was awestruck by this girl who was just like me... And she wrote down all of her thoughts and day to day activities?! I was sold! Immediately upon leaving the theater that day, I asked my mom for a journal and I've been writing ever since. I've come a long way from documenting my '97 summer vacation, most of which consisted of playing kick the can in my neighborhood and arguing with my older sister. 

In 2010, I was able to write for my career. I worked for a marketing company and the role focused on writing copy for social media and print ads, TV and radio ads, and jingles. Over the years, my career has pivoted, but my passion for writing has been steadfast. I am now a freelance copywriter and I could not be more thrilled to have the opportunity to use one of my passions to help UP clients translate their brand and message to current and potential customers through catchy copy and blog posts. And while I no longer reside in the UP, I consider myself a forever Yooper (I think 30 years of residency qualifies!) and love writing about UP businesses and travel destinations.

I grew up in L’anse, MI and always spent my free time outdoors. When I am not producing videos, I am working on my vehicles in my shop. One of my passions is creating and playing with video gear. Whether it’s a gimbal, drone, car mount, or body rig- I love working on camera equipment. Filming events and activities in the Upper Peninsula is the best job I have ever had!
